“We are all storytellers. We all live in a network of stories. There isn’t a stronger connection between people than storytelling.”
— Jimmy Neil Smith
Who We Are
Supporting the future of community journalism
Sightlines Media is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the future of community journalism by providing educational and publishing opportunities for area youth.
Through our programs and initiatives, local high school students have the chance to explore writing, photography, and videography as they learn the skills to tell the stories in their communities. Local industry professionals serve as mentors, and student work is shared with the community through both digital and print media.

THE PRESERVE ISSUE
For this issue, the students began by brainstorming the many ways the theme of ‘preserve’ could be interpreted, identifying story ideas that would be compelling to explore and share as a collective body of work.
Enjoy their stories, their voices, and their images, and discover your community through their eyes.
